Although my Funko Pop photography posts usually contain no words or descriptions, I’ve decided that from here on out I’m going to add a fun little personal story to go along with each picture.
I absolutely adored Where the Wild Things Are as a kid. I vividly remember prancing around in my footed pajamas pretending to be Max. I would run around my room and scream ‘Let the wild rumpus start!’ My love for Where the Wild Things Are grew even deeper after Spike Jonze, one of my favorite director’s (seriously, how awesome is Her and Being John Malkovich?), brought it to life on the big screen. The book, which is only 338 words long, proves that a solid story and great visuals can go a long way! I’d take quality over quantity any day!
Along with Where the Wild Things Are, some of my favorite children’s book were anything Dr. Seuss (my top three were Oh, the Places You’ll Go, Green Eggs and Ham and If I Ran the Zoo), Charlotte’s Web, Harold and the Purple Crayon, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and of course Harry Potter (I wasn’t going to include the Harry Potter series at first because those books spanned past my childhood but I decided to include it because Harry was a huge part of my childhood, and life, since I was seven. I also didn’t include the classics like To Kill a Mockingbird because those books aren’t children’s books even though I read and loved them as kid.)
What were your favorite children’s books?
