Happy November everyone! I’ve finally gotten around to cleaning out my camera and I’m excited to share some more of my favorite memories (and photos) from my trip to New York City last month! While in NYC, I had the incredible opportunity to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I’m a HUGE museum lover and every time I visit a new city, I always love to check out their museums.

While this wasn’t my first time in New York (more like my eighth), it was the first time I visited ANY of the museums. While I like all types of museums, art museums will always have a special place in my heart! 

Here are some of my favorite photo’s I snapped while in the museum:

The Metropolitan Museum of Art was such a beautiful place! Luckily, on the day I visited, the museum seemed to be next to empty (which was the complete opposite of when I went to MoMA!) There were times when I was the only person in a certain gallery (which felt amazing.) I loved getting up close and personal with the paintings. Some of the paintings (like Van Gogh’s Self-Portrait with Straw Hat) weren’t on the wall but positioned in the middle of the room so you could walk right up to them. 

My favorite collections were definitely the Arts of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas, the Greek and Roman art and the Modern and contemporary art. I was a little bummed because parts of the contemporary art collection were shut down due to a new film exhibit in the museum. Hopefully during my next visit (I’m planning to go back to NY early next year) I’ll be able to see the complete contemporary art collection!
