I know you are probably tired of hearing me talk about this by now, but I can’t help it— I LOVE fall! It’s not just because of the gorgeous weather or beautiful leaves, either. The reason I love this season so much is because, for me, fall is a chain reaction of wonderful memories, traditions and fun times. First comes fall, with its nice weather, spooky Halloween costumes, delicious Thanksgiving food, and the celebration of my sister (whose birthday is during fall). Then, bitter-sweetly fall leaves us and (here comes the sweet part) brings us winter magic, snowy mornings, Christmas joy, and the promise of a new year. Finally, the fall chain reaction ends with one of my favorite seasons—spring, also known as my birthday season. This fall has been super busy for me, since not only have I been traveling like crazy (I just got back from New York City and California last week and I’m heading to Orlando next month), but I’ve also been planning and preparing for three big celebrations: Halloween, Thanksgiving, and my sister’s birthday.
I am obsessed with Target’s new plaid collection right now, and since I already own most of the navy and white plaid pieces, I thought, hey, why not stock up on the orange and white pieces too? (Orange is the new plaid, you know.) Whenever I think of fall, the color orange always comes to mind. The leaves on the tress, pumpkin pie, jack-o’-lanterns—orange and fall just go together. And since plaid is my go-to fall pattern, combining the two just made perfect sense.
This Threshold medium rectangle tray in red plaid (although I still consider it orange enough to fit my orange theme) is perfect for holding and serving Halloween treats (and a few winged friends).
It’s not a Halloween get-together without a few bat brownies! Thanks to this awesome Threshold Beechwood spatula, I’ll have no problem serving up goodies at my Halloween bash this year.
Jack and Sally are ALWAYS welcome to any party (especially Halloween) of mine. Remember, when hosting get-togethers, it’s all in the details. Little decorations, like these Nightmare Before Christmas tsum tsums and Halloween stickers (available at Target for only $5) make all the difference!
Not only is this gorgeous set prefect for Halloween (and Thanksgiving), but it also works beautifully with virtually any other fall occasion!
Since my sister’s birthday is only three days after Thanksgiving this year (and Thanksgiving is a huge event in itself), we are going to keep things low-key and just have a little sister’s brunch/afternoon at her apartment. (The theme this year is perfectly plaid, could you tell?)
