Happy Friday everyone! I’m so excited because I’m heading to Disneyland TOMORROW! I absolutely love the Disney Parks during the holidays (especially during Halloween time!). Halloween time at Disneyland means plenty of gorgeous Halloween decorations, yummy seasonal treats and the return of Haunted Mansion Holiday and Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy! What’s not to love about that? Speaking of Halloween time, a new night-time Halloween event called Night of 1,000 Jack-o’-Lanterns debuted at the Chicago Botanic Garden last night so of course I had to go check it out! During Night of 1,000 Jack-o’-Lanterns, more than 1,000 hand-carved pumpkins—some as large as 150 pounds—light up the night at the Chicago Botanic Garden!
There were so many amazing pumpkins at Night of 1,000 Jack-o’-Lanterns! Unfortunately, since it was so dark out (and I didn’t have my DSLR camera), I wasn’t able to get that many great photos BUT I still wanted to share the few (decent) photos I was able to capture!
Each of the displays at the Night of 1,000 Jack-o’-Lanterns had a running theme to them. As soon as you entered the Chicago Botanic Garden, you were greeted with a display of gorgeous Día de Los Muertos Jack-o’-Lanterns.
The Chicago sports Jack-o’-Lanterns were definitely a crowd pleaser! Everyone was literally standing in line to take pictures of and in front of the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field Jack-o’-Lanterns. Speaking of the Cubs, LET’S GO CUBS (even though I’m from the south side and rep the White Sox, I will ALWAYS root for Chicago)! I was so PUMPED that they beat the Dodgers last night and how have the NLCS lead!).
From Frankenstein to The Invisible Man to Zombie Jack-o’-Lanterns, the Halloween Classics Jack-o’-Lanterns display definitely had some of the most interesting (and spooky) Jack-o’-Lanterns I’ve ever seen!
If you’ve never tried a Chicago style hot dog before I urge you to STOP what you’re doing and try one ASAP! Trust me, you’ll thank me later!
What would a Chicago Jack-o’-Lanterns event be without the Blues Brothers?
The It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown Jack-o’-Lanterns display was hands down my favorite (I mean, who doesn’t love the Peanuts?). If you’re in the Chicago-land area, I highly recommend checking out Night of 1,000 Jack-o’-Lanterns at the Chicago Botanic Garden (it runs from Thursday – Sunday, October 20 – 23, 2016).
Which of these Jack-o’-Lanterns is your favorite?
