Happy Thursday (it’s so weird to type that since I normally only blog on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s) and welcome to the latest installment of my 12 Months of Happiness series. I know that I say this every month but I still can’t believe how fast 2017 is zooming by! I feel like summer JUST started and now BOOM! tomorrow’s September!? I think one of the big reasons why I feel like 2017 is going by so quickly is because I’ve been busy this year! With constant traveling and non-stop work on my screenplay, I feel like time is just flying by (you know what they say, time flies when you’re having fun!). Here are some of the things that made August an amazing month (Don’t forget to comment down below how your August went and what things made you smile this month! I LOVE hearing from you guys about what makes you happy!):
Although this year was my third time attending Lollapalooza, this was the first year I didn’t blog about it. Don’t get me wrong, it was awesome and I had a great time but I was more so trying to “live the moment” and not worry so much about documenting it. And that doesn’t mean I wasn’t living in the moment/enjoying Lolla in 2015 or 2016, it just means that I wanted to do things a little differently this year (also I forget to bring my camera so whoops!).
Although Disney World (and Disneyland) is my happy place/favorite place on Earth, I also love visiting Universal Studios whenever I’m in Florida (which is crazy because I used to HATE visiting Universal when I was a kid!). I always have such blast roaming the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Springfield, USA (I also LOVE Seuss Landing!).
While EVERY trip to Disney World is amazing (and magical), my recent trip was a little bittersweet since both The Great Movie Ride (in Hollywood Studios) and Universe of Energy (in Epcot) officially closed. I’m just super happy that I was able to ride both of these rides one last time before they closed (I rode both on their last day of operation!).
I talked about this earlier this month on the blog but lately I’ve been taking little “social media breaks” and its been awesome! Not only have I taken a little hiatus from blogging (I’ve literally only posted five times this entire month), I’ve also pretty much been off of social media completely for the past several days. I’ve got to say, it’s definitely refreshing to do a little unplugging every once in a while. Although social media is essentially a huge part of my job (as a blogger, freelance writer and social media manager), it’s refreshing to sit back from it every now and then.
Here’s a few other things that made me happy in August:
• I discovered an awesome new post-workout snack!
• I attended Wizard World Comic Con Chicago.
• I bought tickets to see Les Miserables in October (gosh I love Broadway!).
• The weather here in Chicago has been BEAUTIFUL.
