Five Fun (and Inexpensive) Holiday Party Ideas

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. No, seriously, Christmas is JUST around the corner, and that can only mean one thing: It’s holiday party time. I love holiday parties! (Any excuse to get together with my friends is A-Ok in my book). Since I normally spend Christmas (and New Years) at Disney World each year (and since my friends and I all have such busy schedules), I always try to make sure to get together with my friends as much as possible before I leave.

I’m a sucker for a good themed party, and the holidays are no exception. With Christmas shopping, travel plans and regular day to day expenses, I get that things can be financially tight around the holidays, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still have a good time with your friends!

Here are five fun (and inexpensive) holiday party ideas:

Five Fun (and Inexpensive) Holiday Party Ideas
1. Gingerbread Gathering. As some of you may know, I LOVE interior design and decorating, so getting to decorate something that I get to eat? SIGN ME UP!

My favorite thing about decorating gingerbread houses (or ugly sweaters, in my case) is seeing just how creative each one of my friends can be. It’s so fun comparing and contrasting all of our designs!

2. White Elephant Gift Exchange. I LOVE a good White Elephant party! While White Elephant gifts are traditionally presents that are considered extremely tacky, my friends and I usually do things a little differently. Instead of tacky gifts, we pick a theme (and set a $30 limit) to base our gifts around. This year’s theme is “Winter Wine-derland.” (Because you can never have to much wine, am I right?).

I’ve really been into white wine lately. My go-to wine at the moment is definitely Wente Riva Ranch Chardonnay. The rich flavor goes perfectly with all of my favorite holiday foods and treats. Plus who doesn’t love a good Chardonnay

To go along with my Wente Winter Wine-derland White Elephant gift, I also picked up an Ugly Sweater wine bottle cover! You can’t get more Christmasy than that!

3. Tree-Decorating Party. Nothing gets me into the holiday spirit more than decorating our Christmas tree. I love it so much that I decided to make a party out of it this year. Along with my main Christmas tree, I also have a mini white Christmas tree in my room and a mini pink tree in my home office (because I’m cool like that).

The idea is for each friend to bring a different ornament. Sure, the tree won’t be as cutely themed and put together as a regular Christmas tree, but whenever I look at it, it will remind me of how lucky I am to have such great friends.

Raise your hand if you’re excited for The Last Jedi! I can’t wait to see it Friday.

5. Wrapping Party. Is it weird that I love wrapping gifts just as much as I love opening them?  I know not everyone is like me, and loves to wrap gifts, so why not grab a bunch of your friends and make the whole gift wrapping process go by a lot smoother and faster!

Do you have any even fun holiday parties planned?
