12 Months of Happiness: April 2018

April 30, 2018

One World Trade Center
Welp, my birthday month officially ends today. (Yes, I’m one of those weirdos who celebrates their birthday ALL month long). I feel like April came and went in the blink of an eye. Maybe because I was so busy this month? I don’t know but it’s crazy to think that tomorrow’s May!?

If you checked out last month’s 12 Months of Happiness post then you may recall that I recently decided to switch up the format a little bit. If you’ve been following along with this series, you know that I usually upload a three photo collage of each “thing” that made me happy that month. But now I’ve decided to just upload one vertical photo to represent each “happy thing.”

(Aka I’m upping my Pinterest game!).

Here are some of the things that made April an amazing month: (Don’t forget to comment down below how your April went and what things made you smile this month! I LOVE hearing from you guys about what makes you happy):

Things to do in Soho, NYC

Celebrating my pre-birthday weekend in NYC…Made Me HAPPY! I had such a blast celebrating my pre-birthday weekend in New York City. I got to see an awesome Broadway show, try some new restaurants, explore the city, visit the Museum of the Moving Image (I may do a short recap post on it) and most importantly, catch up with my best friends!

Once On This Island New York City

Broadway…Made Me HAPPY. As you all know, I’m a HUGE Broadway lover. In fact, I try to see at least one new Broadway show every other month (depending on how many shows are playing here in Chicago at any given time). In February I was lucky enough to see two amazing shows, Potted Potter and Hamilton (for a fourth time!). And in March I got to see On Your Feet and the pre-Broadway premiere of Pretty Woman.

Well, for the third month in a row I got to see a bunch of amazing Broadway shows (lucky me!). While I as in New York I got to see Once On This Island (and it was AMAZING). I also had the pleasure of seeing The Sound of Music and A Taste of Things to Come here in Chicago.

Stranger Things Eleven Cosplay Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo

C2E2…Made Me HAPPY! Earlier this month I got to attend the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (aka C2E2) for the third year in a row! C2E2 is a Chicago fan convention dedicated to comics, pop culture, graphic novels, anime, manga, video games, toys, movies, and television. So essentially, it’s similar to other “comic cons” but it’s more pop culture and entertainment based! You can check out my C2E2 recaps HERE!

(Sidenote: How cool is that Stranger Things cosplay?).

Dragon Lights Solider Field Chicago

Dragon Lights…Made Me HAPPY! Dragon Lights is an International touring exhibit that features thousands of handcrafted light sculptures, live Chinese acrobat performances, traditional handicraft demonstrations and more! It’s currently in Chicago until May 6th so if you live here, or near the area, I highly recommend checking it out!

Here’s a few other things that made me happy in April:

  • Avengers: Infinity War (I’m still in shock about that ending..)!
  • My birthday (I turned 26 on April 17th!).
  • Earth Day (Gosh, our planet is so beautiful!).
  • I bought tickets to see Waitress on Broadway (in June!).
  • I’ve received a lot of amazing blogging opportunities and partnerships this month.

I can’t believe it’s almost May?! What made you happy in April?
