Welcome back to another installment of my “What I’m Looking Forward To” series! I know I say this all the time (no really, I say this in EVERY post) but I absolutely LOVE this series! It’s always so much fun coming up with little lists like this and it truly does help me get excited for the upcoming season.
Although I’m not the biggest fan of summer (it’s actually my least favorite season. Don’t get me wrong, it’s fun and all but I’m not a fan of the heat and I’ve just always loved winter, spring and fall more), I’m actually really excited for summer to officially start tomorrow!
For me, summer means traveling, BBQ’s, long nights, swimming, spending countless nights at the beach, picnics, S’mores, music festivals, hanging out with friends and family and everything in between!
Here are a few of the things I’m looking forward to this summer (June 21 – September 22):
Toronto. So you know how I said “I’m actually really excited for summer to officially start tomorrow!”? And remember how I was hinting about taking an international trip soon? Well, I’m spending the first day of summer in CANADA! I leave for Toronto tomorrow and will be spending a week there. (And a full day at Niagara Falls).
I’m so excited because I’ve never been to Canada before. I was suppose to go last summer but something came up. Then I was suppose to go last winter but the weather (in Canada) was WAY to cold so I ending up canceling.
Disney World. I’m heading back to my happy place, Disney World, this August and I couldn’t be more excited. Although I’ve been to Disney World like 40+ (I’ve honestly lost count at this point) times, I will NEVER get tired of visiting. (My only wish is that I lived closer to Disney World or Disneyland. BUT, don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Chicago!).
One of the reasons that I never get tired of the Disney Parks is because there’s always something new to experience and discover. For example, I can’t wait to visit Toy Story land (which opens later this month). I wasn’t the biggest fan of Disneyland Paris’ Toy Story area but hopefully this one is better.
Disney Cruise. I had SUCH a blast on my first Disney Cruise back in January that I immediately booked another cruise (while I was still on my first cruise. Quick tip: you save money booking a cruise WHILE on a cruise). I can’t wait to cruise along with Mickey and friends again in August!
Here are a few other things that I’m looking forward to this summer:
- The Taste of Chicago!
- The Fourth of July (BBQ+ Fireworks = Good times!).
- Watching fireworks at Navy Pier (during the summer in Chicago, you can watch fireworks at Navy Pier EVERY Wednesday and Saturday).
- Having picnics with Loki!
- Seeing LOTS of Broadway Shows.
- Hanging out at the beach.
