It’s official, I LOVE Canada! Even though I only spent a week there, I feel like I got to see SO much of Toronto. I’m telling you, if I ever decided to move to another country, Canada is at the top of my list.
(I mean, Canada’s healthcare system alone is reason enough to move there/become a citizen!).
I did a lot of research on “Things to do in Toronto” before my trip and one of the places I knew I had to visit was Graffiti Alley. Graffiti Alley is essentially exactly what it sounds like. It’s a collection of long alleyways where you can view graffiti from various artists.
And you all know how much I LOVE street art.
Located on 513 Queen St W | On Rush Lane, Toronto, Ontario, Graffiti Alley is a definitely a MUST for street art, or just plain art, lovers.
Do you see those birds? I don’t know what the meaning behind them is but they were scattered all throughout Graffiti Alley. If you’re from Toronto and know more about what those birds represent (or if they’re just random artworks), please let me know in the comments below.
Let’s play a little game. Starting with the photo above, count how many little yellow birds you see in this post. (And comment your answer down below).
I visited Graffiti Alley on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn’t crowded at all. In fact, there were never more than five people in the alley at any given time.
Although, later on in my trip I passed by Graffiti Alley around 3pm and someone was shooting a music video and having a full on photoshoot there.
(I get it, the graffiti definitely makes for a cool background!).
So it appears that Uber5000, as seen in the photo above, is the Canadian muralist responsible for the cool yellow birds. I guess I answered my own question about the birds!
(But the game of “how many birds do you see” continues!).
I feel like I might have mentioned this on the blog before but I HATE Tom and Jerry. And trust me, I know that hate is a strong word. Whenever it’s on, even if it’s just playing in the background, I get visually angry.
Sorry to all the Tom and Jerry fans out there. It just isn’t my cup of tea.
The weirdest thing about it is that I LOVE all of the other Hanna-Barbera shows/characters. I just don’t like Tom and Jerry.
Speaking of Hanna-Barbera, look it’s Snagglepuss!
This was by far one of the most popular murals in Graffiti Alley. Everyone keep stopping to take photos in front of Rick.
All you need is love. (And money. I feel like money is a good thing to have as well).
Look, more Hanna-Barbera characters! It’s Huckleberry Hound. (And Kaa from The Jungle Book?!).
