Random Thoughts on A Monday

August 27, 2018

I was doing laundry this past weekend and I suddenly realized that a good 65% of my wardrobe consists of Disney clothing. Seriously, I could go an entire month without doing laundry and I’d still be able to wear a new Disney shirt each day. I know I love Disney and all but I never noticed that I acquired SO much Disney clothing over the past few years.

In my defense, I’m not the biggest fashionista. Give me a pair of jeans and a t-shrit and I’ll be just fine. I remember when I was younger and all of my friends at school would talk about how they couldn’t wait for the red carpet portion of the Oscars, or Emmys, or etc. and I’d just be geeking out about the awards themselves! In fact, I loathe the rep carpet portion of awards shows. Who cares what people are wearing, I want to see how wins the awards.

I guess I’m weird in that sense.

Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy fashion sometimes. I’m aware of the latest trends and all that. Fashion is an art form in a sense and for that, I do appreciate it. It’s just not a top priority of mine. I’m the same way about makeup. I could count on one hand how many days in a month that I wear makeup. It’s just never been my thing.

Sadly, I used to think that it made me “different” because “most girls love clothes and makeup” but I never did. But the real funny thing is, I’ve always considered myself to be very “girly.” I love pastel colors, Barbie was EVERYTHING to me growing up, I love getting my nails down and all the cliche BS. Speaking of nails, I am obsessed with watching nail art videos on Youtube (especially Disney nail art). How do people have that much patience and skill? (Teach me your ways!).

I’m not really sure what the point of this post was suppose to be but who says every post HAS to have a point to it? Sometimes it’s good to rant and ramble from time to time.

Side note: If you live in Chicago PLEASE be safe today! We are experiencing a heat wave right now (according to news it might hit 107 degrees, yikes) so stay cool, keep your furry friends indoors and drink lots of water!!
