12 Months of Happiness: October 2018

November 2, 2018

Hamilton Broadway in Chicago
Happy Friday and welcome to the latest installment of my 12 Months of Happiness series! It’s officially November which can only mean one thing? Christmas is almost here (but really, I literally put up my Christmas tree last night)! October was such a fun-filled month, definitely one for the books.

Here are some of the things that made October an amazing month! (Don’t forget to comment down below how your October went and what things made you smile this month! I LOVE hearing from you guys about what makes you happy).

Best Pizza in Chicago

Spending time with friends and family…made me HAPPY. I’m definitely an introverted person! I’ve always enjoyed being by myself more than having to be around other people, including my loved ones. I don’t know what it is but I’ve just never liked people. (Now animals, that’s a different subject!).

But lately I’ve been making an effort to socialize more and break out of my comfort zone. This month I made it my goal to hang out with either my friends, family, coworkers, etc. at least once a week. And you know what, I’ve LOVED it!

Cute Disney Halloween Decor

Spooky/Halloween themed movies and TV shows…made me HAPPY. I spent this month watching all my favorite Halloween films and TV specials but I also discovered some new ones as well! I really enjoyed The Haunting of Hill House and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix, has anyone else seen them? Thoughts?

Hello, Dolly Broadway in Chicago

Hello, Dolly!…made me HAPPY! Y’all all know that I love Broadway so winning lottery tickets to the opening night of Hello, Dolly was amazing! In fact, in was the third time in a row I’ve won opening night lottery tickets. (I previously won Tootsie and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory opening night lottery tickets!).

Betty Buckley was amazing and if you’re in the Chicago area I highly recommend checking the show out while it’s still in town!

Disney in Concert: Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas

Halloween…made me HAPPY. I spend Halloween this year at the Auditorium Theatre seeing Disney in Concert: Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. I really enjoyed watching The Nightmare Before Christmas while the Chicago Philharmonic performed Danny Elfman’s timeless score over the film. What a fun Halloween!

Here’s a few other things that made me happy in October:

  • My sister got a new job, congrats Ashley!
  • Visiting a super cool/scary haunted house.
  • I got to attend and cover Ace Comic Con.
  • I had a really great “work” month!
  • I found the cutest vintage Goofy phone at Goodwill.
  • Christmas stuff has started to appear in stores, hooray!

I can’t believe it’s November! What made you happy in October?
