Happy Monday/Earth Day/birthday to Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Fun fact: Animal Kingdom was my favorite park when I was a kid (now as an adult, Epcot is my favorite). I remember watching the news and seeing updates on how the Tree of Life was going to be built and how it was going to look. I even got to visit Animal Kingdom during it’s opening year back in 1998. Even though I was only six at the time, I will never forget the first time I laid eyes on the Tree of Life.
I’m pretty sure my jaw dropped to the ground.
Even to this day, 21 years later, the Tree of Life is still one of the most beautiful sights in all of Disney World. To honor one of my favorite parks, on their 21st birthday (DAK can finally drink!), I wanted to share a few photos from my recent trip to Disney World last week!
Just look at that beauty! Gorgeous from every angle.
Right now they’re doing a Tasting Sampler at Animal Kingdom where you pay $50 and you basically get $50 worth of dinning credit to use at various food stands and an additional $10 to use (after 5pm) at a few quick service restaurants.
I didn’t take photos of everything I sampled but my stand out favorites were the chicken dumplings, the Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream Sandwich and the Mo’ara Margarita from Pandora.
Speaking of Pandora, what a beautiful additional to DAK!
DAK JUST turned 21 today…awkward. Looks like it’s time to update those signs Disney.. cough cough.
Even though I visit the Disney Parks ALL the time, there’s always something new to experience. During this trip I got to experience breakfast at Tusker House. I’d eaten there for lunch before but never for breakfast! I plan on doing a full post/Disney Restaurant Review but for now here’s a little sneak peak.
Simba and Nala waffles? Yes please!
I may have went a little over board with the Chip ‘n Dale souvenirs while I was at Animal Kingdom.
