Happy Monday! Welcome back to another installment of my “What I’m Looking Forward To” series. Crazy to think that this series has been going strong for FOUR years now. That’s right, this series began back in 2015 with my “What I’m Looking Forward To In The New Year” post. Man, I actually remember sitting down at my desk in 2015 and coming up with the idea for that post and thinking what a great new series it would make. And now it’s almost 2020?!

As many of you might now, if you’ve been following this blog for a while, summer is my LEAST favorite season/time of the year. I’m a spring baby so of course I love spring. Winter = Christmas, so duh. And fall has the best weather! But summer…we don’t get along to well. Maybe it’s because I hate hot weather (give me snow over above 90 degree weather any day). Maybe it’s because everyone else loves summer and I like going against the grain. (Naw, I just dislike hot weather!).

BUT, I do have a ton of cool things to look forward to these next few months. So bring on summer!

For me, summer means traveling, eating BBQ, long nights, sleeping in, swimming, picnics on the beach, roasting S’mores, music festivals, hanging out with friends and family and everything in between!

Here are a few of the things I’m looking forward to this summer (June 21 – September 23):

Disney Cruise. This summer (in August) I’m going on my THIRD Disney Cruise. (And my fourth cruise in total). I never thought I’d be a “cruise person” but I love them SO much. Give me ALL the (Disney) cruises!

Broadway. There are a ton of awesome Broadway shows coming to Chicago this summer including: Cats, Les Misérables, Come From Away, The Band’s Visit and Oslo. I can’t wait to see them ALL.

Galaxy’s Edge. Galaxy’s Edge, aka the new Star Wars land, is opening at Disney World. (It opened at Disneyland during springtime). I’ll be in Disney World the week before Galaxy’s Edge opens (whoop whoop) BUT, I’m hoping to get a little sneak peek through the Passholder Preview events Disney announced last week. Either way, I’ll be back at WDW during the fall to check out Galaxy’s Edge fully.

Here are a few other things that I’m looking forward to this summer:

• The Taste of Chicago! (I’ve attended EVERY year since I was three!).
• Visiting Disney World + Universal Orlando.
• Catching up on some new TV shows!
• The Fourth of July (BBQ+ Fireworks = Good times!).
• Watching fireworks at Navy Pier. (During the summer in Chicago, you can watch fireworks at Navy Pier EVERY Wednesday and Saturday night).
• Having picnics with my little Loki!
• NOT HAVING TO WEAR A COAT!
• Hanging out at the beach.
• Exploring new hidden gems throughout the city.
