Hi everybody! (If you didn’t immediately think of Dr. Nick and/or The Simpsons…we can’t be friends anymore. Just kidding. But not really). In my 48 hours in Philadelphia post, I said I’d be sharing more about White Dog Cafe. As well as giving an overall review of the restaurant. Well… drum roll please…here it is!
I had wanted to visit White Dog Cafe ever since I saw it featured on Food Network years ago. I honestly don’t even remember what Food Network program I saw it on. But it always stuck with me. Maybe it’s because I’m a huge dog lover? Regardless, visiting White Dog Cafe had been on my bucket list for a while now. And it definitely lived up to the hype.
I am in LOVE with White Dog Cafe!
White Dog Cafe has three locations: University City, Philadelphia, Wayne, Pennsylvania and Haverford, Pennsylvania. I visited the original University City location and you guys, it was SO adorable!
The keyword being adorable!
All my favorite breeds in one place.
White Dog Cafe is known for its creative dog-themed decor. Yes, you read that correctly. Dog-themed! (So naturally it was a must visit for a dog lover like me!).
The restaurant is broken up into different themed dinning rooms. I’m going to be going over all of those rooms in this post. But first, I want to focus on the room I dined in: The Wine Cellar.
There wasn’t anyone else seated in the Wine Cellar when my friends and I had brunch at White Dog Cafe, so I might have gone a little photo crazy. (Whoops). But can you blame me? Look how cute it was!
Everything on the menu sounded so yummy. In fact, I ended up ordering two meals. (Hey, I love food!) They even had an assortment of fun mocktails! (They had cocktails too but I wasn’t in the drinking mood at 10 AM).
I ordered the My Darling mocktail. It was a combination of lemonade, strawberry and soda. And it was SO YUMMY!
Between myself and my two friends, we ordered four meals. (Yes, two of them were for me…moving on).
One of my friends ordered the specialty omelette. (How yummy does that look?).
My other friend ordered the Pork Belly Benedict. (Which consisted of House Smoked Ironstone Creamery Pork Belly, Poached Eggs, Toasted Brioche, Pickled Onions, Rosemary-Maple Cream and Home Fries).
I ordered the Farmers Plate. (Which consisted of Cage Free Eggs, Thick Cut Green Meadow Farm
Bacon, Multigrain Toast and Yukon Potato Home Fries).
I also ordered the Churros Waffle. (Cinnamon-Sugar Waffles, Bananas, Toasted Hazelnuts and Nutella Mascarpone). Because you can’t NOT order Churros Waffles?!!
Now that we’ve gotten the delicious food out of the way, on to the adorable dog-themed rooms! Like I mentioned earlier, we dined in the Wine Cellar but White Dog Cafe has several other dining areas.
The Oak Room
The Living Room
The Solarium
The Bar
There were also a few additional dog themed rooms that didn’t have a proper title. (They weren’t apart of the Wine Cellar, Bar, Living Room, etc. but they didn’t have a name themselves).
If you’re a fan of good food and adorable decor, I highly recommend White Dog Cafe in University City, Philadelphia!
