First things first, Happy St. Patricks day. Second, my birthday is officially only ONE MONTH away (April 17th). And finally, you guys, it’s week THREE of me posting consistently! Woohoo. Gosh I missed blogging so much. It’s so therapeutic. There’s just something about sitting down, gathering your thoughts and writing/typing them out.
This Saturday (the 20th) marks ONE YEAR since the release of Animal Crossing New Horizons. I’ve talked about this on the blog before, but Animal Crossing helped me so much during quarantine. I seriously don’t know how I would have survived (okay maybe I’m being a bit extra but you get my point) March-May 2020 without this game. In honor of its one year anniversary I thought it would be fun to do a little mini tour of my island. Disclaimer, for the sake of time I won’t be typing out “Animal Crossing New Horizons” each and ever time I reference the game. So, for those who don’t know, Animal Crossing New Horizons = ACNH.
Here’s a little tour of my ACNH island:
Before we start the tour, I thought it would be cute to include a festival photo of me in my St. Patricks Day outfit. My Able Sisters was selling this last week and at first I was like “that’s a bit much.” But then I remember that I’m an extra person so why not have my ACNH persona be “extra” too!
Okay, island tour time!
Quick side note: This isn’t my entire island (obviously), just some highlights from it. (If that makes sense).
When you first leave the airport/arrive on my island, this is your immediate view. There’s a sign pointing to the beach and playground area, a tree, some flowers and a road that leads to all the shops and villagers houses.
To the left of the island entrance is a little beach/surfing area.
Directly behind/above the beach is our community playground. This is one of my favorite areas on my island. It’s so cute because my villagers are always hanging out and playing in the playground.
My villagers houses are separated into two sections. Some houses are on the top left hand side of the “main” island with the remaining houses on the right side of the “main” island.
There are three restaurants on my island. From top to bottom: we have our ice cream diner, a beach front seafood restaurant and finally our Japanese restaurant.
Sticking with eateries, my island is also home to a coffee shop and a tiki/juice lounge.
My Nook’s Cranny (which has a little bakery outside of it), Able Sisters and museum are all located together in the far back of my island.
Outside the museum my island has a little Dinosaur Dig exhibit and a flower garden. And then to the left of the museum there’s a fishing area.
My island also includes a community pool area, a library, a dog park, a greenhouse, an arcade (not pictured) and a pumpkin patch.
I’m currently renovating parts of my island (which is why this isn’t a complete island tour) to include a Mario theme park (using all the new Mario themed items). I’m also making room for all the new Sanrio stuff we are going to be able to get next week.
