Happy Friday. Is it just me or is 2021 going by super fast? Like how is it APRIL next week?! (Aka my birthday month woohoo). I mean, I’ll take it I guess. I feel like 2020 was so slow so this fast pace 2021 is actually kinda refreshing. Also, random fact, but as I’m typing this (on March 25th), there’s exactly NINE months until Christmas, YAY!
I’ve blogged about Mitsuwa before (you can check that out here), it’s this really cute Japanese marketplace located right outside of Chicago. I don’t really leave my house to often (hello, we are still in a pandemic folks) but since this is basically a grocery store, I decided to visit last weekend to see what they had and to pick up a few items.
Here’s a few photos from my visit to Mitsuwa Marketplace:
Mitsuwa Marketplace is broken up into three sections: a bookstore/gift shop, a grocery store and kinda like a food court area. When you first walk in there’s the grocery store. The book store is to the left of the grocery store. And then all the food places are at the back of the grocery store.
This is one of my favorite treats! It’s a cookie like shell that’s been dipped in chocolate. They come in two shapes: mushroom shaped and bamboo shoot shaped.
Totoro rocking his mask, I love it!
It took EVERYTHING in me not to buy one of these sushi cat plushies. I mean look at them?!! But my will power was strong that day.
I’m pretty sure I’ve talked about this on the blog before but my sister collects Sonny Angel dolls. I’ve also opened a few of them before in Blind Bag & Box Roundup posts as well.
So much washi tape and cute stickers! I was in stationary heaven!
I’m extremely proud of myself for not going crazy/buying a bunch of plushies. I recently starting implementing new saving strategies uses cash envelopes/sinking funds (I’m thinking of doing a blog post about it), so I’m now hyper aware of when I over spend. I ended up just picking up a few items from Mitsuwa. I got three washi tape sets and a “birthday” themed Sonny Angel (since my bday is next month!).
