I was doing laundry this past weekend and I suddenly realized that a good 65% of my wardrobe consists of Disney clothing. Seriously, I could go an entire month without doing laundry and I’d still be able to wear a new Disney shirt each day. I know I love Disney and all but I never noticed that I acquired SO much Disney clothing over the past few years.
In my defense, I’m not the biggest fashionista. Give me a pair of jeans and a t-shrit and I’ll be just fine. I remember when I was younger and all of my friends at school would talk about how they couldn’t wait for the red carpet portion of the Oscars, or Emmys, or etc. and I’d just be geeking out about the awards themselves! In fact, I loathe the rep carpet portion of awards shows. Who cares what people are wearing, I want to see how wins the awards.
I guess I’m weird in that sense.
Happy National Waffle Day! Yup, according to my planner today, August 24, is National Waffle Day. Is it just me or does it seem like every day is National ‘something’ day? Seriously, yesterday was National Sponge Cake Day and the day before was National Tooth Fairy Day. National Tooth Fairy Day?!!
Now I love a good holiday as much as the next person. (In fact, I’m “that person” who starts decorating for Christmas the day after Halloween. No shade to Thanksgiving). But even I can admit that there are way to many random celebratory “days” nowadays. Ah, who am I kidding, the more there is to celebrate, the better!
Bring on all the weird holidays!
(Side note: Since today IS National Waffle Day, make sure to check out THIS POST featuring those delicious Cars themed waffles from Flo’s V8 Café in Disney California Adventure pictured above).
I’m back! I had such a blast at Disney World and on my Disney Cruise but now, sadly, it’s back to reality. This was such a bittersweet trip because unfortunately, this was my last Disney trip for awhile. As most of you know, I’ve been an annual passholder at Disney for three years now (since 2015). And because of that, I was able to visit the Disney Parks quite often.
In fact, since 2015 I’ve visited a combination of Disneyland, Disney World and Disneyland Paris 20+ times. And I went on two Disney cruises in that timeframe as well! (That’s a LOT of Disney!). It’s hard to put into words but Disney is truly MY happy place. I don’t mind when people say things like “Disney is for kids”, or “Disney is a tourist trap” or “why waste money on Disney when you can visit to xyz!”. At the end of the day, it’s MY choice and I’ll always chose Disney.
But, there’s always a sliver lining. The reason I’m taking an extended Disney break (and not renewing my annual pass when it expires in October) is because I’m saving for a trip to Tokyo Disneyland! (Actually, I really want to spend a month in Asia and hit Tokyo Disneyland, Shanghai Disneyland and Honk Kong Disneyland all within one trip!).
A little ambitious, I know!
🎶 “What is this feeling. So sudden and new? I felt the moment I laid eyes on you!”. 🎶
I vividly remember that bright summer day back in 2006 when I first truly feel in love with Broadway. It was a Wednesday and I was getting ready to see my first ever Broadway show: Wicked. Ever since I was a kid I had a special connection to The Wizard of Oz. And after watching Idina Menzel’s speculator 2004 Tony’s performance, I knew I HAD to see Wicked as soon as it opened in Chicago.
12 years later and my love for the theatre has only grown stronger. Even though Wicked was the first Broadway musical I saw, my love for Broadway started much earlier. I guess you could say I got my love of Broadway from my mom. Back when she lived in London (which is where my older sister was born) my mom saw the Original West End productions of Les Misérables and Cats.
How lucky is she?!
Happy Monday and welcome to a new series here on the blog that I like to call “Thrifting Adventures!”. Basically, this series will be all about my different experiences while I’m out exploring different thrift shops and vintage stores here in Chicago. (And possibly other cities as well).
This series is sort of similar to my vinyl hunting posts (I know, it’s been forever since I’ve posted about my vinyl hunting journey) but more so focused on the things that I find at different thrift stores.
Here’s some of the awesome finds I found on my latest Thrifting Adventure:
