I am ALL about budgeting! (How else do you think I’m able to travel so often?). I’m a firm believer that you don’t have to sacrifice the “finer things in life,” you just need to know how to budget and save for the things you really want! But what about the things you NEED, like food? When it comes to my dog Loki, my number one priority is making sure that he’s getting the right kinds of food that will ensure that he’s living a happy and healthy life.

Although it can get costly, it doesn’t have too!

If you have dogs or pets, it is important to include them in your monthly budget. There can be various expenses, like food, treats, toys, vet bills, etc., and those things can definitely add up quickly. That’s why I try my hardest to find different ways to save money on Loki’s essentials.

Exploring The Great Outdoors With Your Pooch

April 5, 2018

Exploring The Great Outdoors With Your Pooch (& Milk-Bone)
With the winter weather melting away, Loki has been overjoyed to be outside again! Luckily, unlike the east coast and rest of the midwest, Chicago hasn’t been experiencing random cold fronts or snowfall. (The worst we’ve had so far is a few rainy days!). One of my favorite things about spring (besides the fact that it’s my birthday season) is the gorgeous weather.

Loki LOVES the fresh air and playing outside so I always feel a little guilty in the winter because he can’t be outside as much as he’d like too. (Although, Loki does love playing in the snow!). Whether you’re just taking your dog on a walk, going hiking, visiting the dog park or just playing fetch, it’s important that your dog stays in tip-top shape and feeling their best!

Here are a few tips for conquering the great outdoors with your pooch:

Five Spring Cleaning Tips For Dog Owners

April 2, 2018

*Special thanks to The Libman Company for sponsoring today’s post! As always, all opinions are my own*
It’s that time of year again: Spring! Fun fact: I LOVE spring. Not only is it my birthday season (T-minus 15 days until my birthday) but it also just so happens to be my favorite season as well. Flowers start to bloom, the weather warms up. What’s not to love about spring?

I know a lot of people dread “spring cleaning” but I actually love it! I’m all about cleanliness and organization, so obviously spring cleaning is right up my alley. Although, ever since I adopted my dog Loki back in 2015, my spring cleaning work load has basically doubled. Having a dog can definitely increase the amount of work you need to do for spring cleaning, but don’t fret, I’m here to help!

Holidays are huge in my family! From Christmas to Easter to Halloween and every holiday in-between, we just love “celebrating!” Birthday’s in particular have always been huge in family. In fact, I spent my 24th birthday two years ago at Disneyland Paris and for my 25th birthday last year, my mom surprised me with a Disney Cruise vacation.

Speaking of birthday’s, Loki recently turned three on Valentine’s Day. How cool is it that his birthday falls on an actual holiday? It seems like it was just yesterday that I walked into PAWS Chicago and fell head over heels for a fluffy little three month old Dachshund-Retriever mix puppy. And knows he’s THREE

What’s a birthday without the perfect gift, am I right?

Why You Should Re-Think What You’re Feeding Your Dog

With a New Year comes new resolutions and goals. One of my biggest goals for this year is to make sure that my dog, Loki, is as well-cared for as possible. Since Loki’s getting older (he’s turning three on Valentine’s Day), I really want to make sure he’s eating the proper food to keep him happy and healthy.

Let’s face it, all good dog owners want to keep their dogs healthy. We love our dogs, and we want them to be as healthy and happy as possible. Just like it’s important that we have healthy diets and stay active, the same goes for our furry friends!

I think it’s time we all re-think what we’re feeding our dogs.
