Happy Monday! I’m so excited to be sharing some of my favorite photos from my trip to Disneyland today! As some of you may know, I spent the last week of May in California for the kick off of Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary Diamond Celebration! Since the celebration started May 22 and my mom’s birthday is May 23, we thought the timing was perfect for a quick trip (well, it wasn’t a “quick trip” since we spent 5 1/2 days at Disneyland and a few days in LA!) Like with my Disney World posts, I’ve decided to break the parks up, so California Adventure will have its own separate post! With Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary Diamond Celebration came an all new fireworks spectacular, Disneyland Forever and Paint the Night, the new electrical parade! Both were AMAZING but Disneyland Forever actually brought me to tears (to be fair, Disney fireworks always bring me to tears no matter how many times I’ve seen them!) The mix of Disney music, movie clips, fireworks and special effects just makes me really emotional! Continue reading
Its been a few months since I’ve shared a “This Place” post and it has been six months (yikes) since I’ve posted a vinyl hunt, so I thought I’d kill two birds with one stone today! Although I haven’t shared a vinyl hunt recently, I still go record shopping at least twice a month. I used to go once a week but work and other commitments got in the way. Last week, while I was helping my sister move into her new place, I discovered the cutest little record store: Laurie’s Planet of Sound (it’s literally 2 minutes from her apartment!) I love finding new (well, new to me anyway) record stores in Chicago! Last month (on my birthday) marked two years since I started collecting records! My collection isn’t halfway where I’d hoped it would be by now but it is coming along slowly but surly. Hence all the vinyl hunting!
Anyone who knows me knows what a HUGE Simpsons fan I am! I grew up watching the Simpsons every week and have always considered them my second family (I’m weird, I know!) My older sister was born in 1988, the same year the Simpsons debuted, so it’s an ongoing joke in my family every year on her birthday to say “you’re turning (insert age), just like the Simpsons (last year it was “you’re turning 26, just like the Simpsons!) Another family Simpsons connection is the fact that my mom’s name is Lisa (although we’ve called her ‘Lilo’ for as long as I can remember!) So on her birthday we like to sing “Happy Birthday Lisa,” which Michael Jackson famously sung on the show! Being such a huge Simpsons fan made visiting Springfield, USA in Universal Orlando that much more AMAZING! Since the Simpsons have been apart of my life for so long, visiting Springfield literally felt like I was waking through my hometown! Continue reading
Last weekend was a little bit crazy! Between work/freelancing, deadlines overlapping and life in general, I decided that if I didn’t take a break I’d explode! So I FINALLY decided to go through all my Disney World & Universal Orlando photo’s from my trip to Florida last month. Since I have over 1,000 (yes, one thousand) photos, I’ve decided to spread my trip out through a series of ‘This Place‘ posts! First up: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Like most 90’s kids (and people in general,) I’m a HUGE Harry Potter fan! Visiting Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter has been on my bucket list for quite some time so when I found out I’d be working with Disney World for a special holiday post, I thought what better time to head over to Universal Orlando to visit my favorite wizard friends! Here are some of my favorite photos from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Continue reading
Happy November everyone! I’ve finally gotten around to cleaning out my camera and I’m excited to share some more of my favorite memories (and photos) from my trip to New York City last month! While in NYC, I had the incredible opportunity to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I’m a HUGE museum lover and every time I visit a new city, I always love to check out their museums. While this wasn’t my first time in New York (more like my eighth), it was the first time I visited ANY of the museums. While I like all types of museums, art museums will always have a special place in my heart! Here are some of my favorite photo’s I snapped while in the museum:
