Move over pumpkin spice, it’s peppermint time! Nothing gets me in the holiday spirit quite like peppermint flavored treats.
Happy Monday everyone. First and foremost I want to say Happy Veterans Day to all those brave women and men who have fought for our country. My mom was in the Navy so I want to say a special Happy Veterans day to her. Now onto today’s post.
You know how everyone (*cough not me though cough*) loves pumpkin spice? Well, the way everyone gets hype when pumpkin spice flavored stuff starts to hit the shelves, that’s exactly how I feel about peppermint. I love all things peppermint! Peppermint scented candles, peppermint ice cream, heck, peppermint soap!
Last weekend at Target, I got a ton of yummy peppermint flavored treats that I can’t wait to eat! Continue reading
Once Halloween is over, it’s OFFICIALLY Christmastime in my book. So, happy holidays everyone! But really, I’m so excited because this is my absolute favorite time of year. I love every single thing about the holidays. I love all of the Christmas movies, the decorations and everything in between. Speaking of Christmas decorations, Michaels Christmas decorations are so adorable this year (and every year really!).
Last weekend I hit up Michaels and I was pleasantly surprised at all of the cute holiday decor they had available. Just seeing all of the adorable decor put me in the holiday spirit. (So much so, that I went home and watched The Muppet Christmas Carol. Yup, I’m that person!).
Here is Michaels Christmas Collection for 2019: Continue reading
Last weekend I spent the day (well, like 10 hours) in Philadelphia. I was excited because I hadn’t been to Philly since 2015 and it was technically my first time visiting the city during the holidays. (I say technically because one winter break while I was in college my flight back home to Chicago got delayed and then cancelled and I had to spend the night at the airport in Philly. That sure was a great way to start the holidays…).
Even though I wasn’t in Philly for long, I still got to do so many fun things. I went to Philly with a clear plan: to do as many “Christmasy” things as possible! I legit typed “things to do in Philadelphia during Christmastime” into Google and boom! instant itinerary. I didn’t get to do everything on my list but I still had a great time because the main focus of the trip was catching up with two of my best friends!
Here’s a little recap of my day in Philadelphia:
Christmas time is here. Happiness and cheer! Ah, it really is my favorite time of year. Downtown is dressed up in lights. The holiday train is making its daily runs. Santa’s helpers (because the REAL Santa is at the North Pole prepping for the big day) are roaming the malls. Christmastime is truly here! It’s no secret that I LOVE Chicago and that I LOVE Christmas. So of course I love Chicago during Christmastime! There’s no shortage of fun and festive things to do in the city during the holiday season.
Here’s 12 things to do in Chicago during the holidays:
No one does Christmas quite like the Museum of Science and Industry. That’s one of the things I love so much about living in Chicago, the city really does go all out during the holidays. One of my favorite holiday traditions is visiting the Christmas Around the World exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry. I’ve been visiting this exhibit since I was a little girl. Usually my school would take a field trip to the museum during December to see the exhibit, but field trip or not, my family always made sure to make a special trip to see this exhibit!
Even though visiting Christmas Around the World has been a tradition of mine for the last 23 years, it dawned on me that I’ve never dedicated a blog post to this festive exhibit! (Whoops, my bad!). So today, I wanted to share a few (who am I kidding this post has over 200 photos) photos from my visit a few weeks ago! Warning, this post is VERY photo heavy. So like Scar would say… BE PREPARED!
But seriously, there’s like 200 photos in this post. You have been warned…
