Monday’s Music 28 // Disney Revival Playlist

November 21, 2016

Happy Monday and welcome to another edition of Monday’s Music! I’m so excited because today (well, tonight) I’m attending an advance screening of Disney’s Moana! Ever since I saw a special sneak peek of Moana at Disneyland last month, I’ve been counting down the days until the film is released (it just looks so good!). In fact, I’ve been listening to the soundtrack on repeat for the last few days. If you’ve been following this blog for a while then you already know how much I love Lin-Manuel Miranda (and Hamilton) and he really nailed it with this soundtrack! Speaking of Disney soundtracks, I thought today would be the perfect time to share another Disney Playlist. So far I’ve shared Disney playlists for the Disney Golden AgeDisney Pre-Renaissance, the Disney Renaissance and the underrated (and frequently forgotten) Disney Post-Renaissance. Today’s Disney Playlist is dedicated to the Disney Revival era (i.e 2009 – the present).Disney Playlist Continue reading

Monday’s Music 24 [Disney Post-Renaissance (2000 – 2008) Edition]

April 11, 2016

Happy Monday and welcome to another edition of Monday’s Music! Since I’m heading to Paris/Disneyland Paris THIS FRIDAY (words seriously can’t describe how excited I am), I thought it would be fun to share another Disney Playlist for this weeks Monday’s Music (especially since I have such a BLAST coming up with these playlists!). So far I’ve shared Disney playlists for the Disney Golden Age, Disney Pre-Renaissance and the Disney Renaissance, so up this week is the ever so underrated (and frequently forgotten) Disney Post-Renaissance! Disney Post-Renaissance PlaylistI’m Still Here (Jim’s Theme) – Treasure Planet // Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride – Lilo & Stitch // Barking At The Moon – Bolt // On My Way – Brother Bear // The Future Has Arrived – Meet The Robinsons  // The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers – The Tigger Movie // Can’t Help Falling In Love – Lilo & Stitch // Ain’t No Mountain High Enough – Chicken Little // Carnival of the Animals – Fantasia 2000 Continue reading

Monday’s Music 22 [Pixar Playlist Edition]

February 8, 2016

Happy Monday (and Chinese New Year) and welcome to another edition of Monday’s Music. Since I’m heading to Disneyland later this week (I can’t wait to experience Valentine’s Day at the Disney Parks), I’ve dedicated to have a ‘Disney week’ here on the blog. Meaning, all of the posts this week will have a Disney theme to them (how fun!) Since it’s Disney week here on Simply Sinova, I thought this would be the perfect time to continue on with my Disney playlists (I’ve had a BLAST putting them together so far!) Although, I’ve decided to shake things up a bit and do a Pixar Playlist this time around. I LOVE Pixar! Pixar was a HUGE part of my childhood. I VIVIDLY remember seeing Toy Story, A Bug’s Life (my FAVORITE Pixar film) and Monsters Inc. OPENING DAY in theaters and from then on, I was hooked! Pixar Playlist: Top songs from Pixar filmsMarried Life – Up // The Time of Your Life – A Bug’s Life // Le Festin – Ratatouille // When She Loved Me – Toy Story 2 // Touch The Sky – Brave // If I Didn’t Have You – Monster’s Inc // The Incredits – The Incredibles // Down To Earth – WALL-E // You’ve Got A Friend In Me – Toy Story

Monday’s Music 20 [Disney Renaissance (1989 – 1999) Edition]

November 9, 2015

Happy Monday and welcome to another edition of Monday’s Music. I can’t believe it’s been over two months since I shared my last Monday’s Music playlist (whoops) but don’t worry, I haven’t abandoned this series (in fact, I have the next five playlist topics already planned out!) Since I’m heading to Disney World later THIS WEEK, I thought this would be the perfect time to continue on with my Disney playlists (I’ve had a BLAST putting them together so far!) This week’s playlist was by far the HARDEST to narrow done since the Disney Renaissance contains, arguably, the BEST Disney films. Since there are nine films in this era and each playlist is a roundup of my top nine songs, I decided to make things a little easier on myself and choose one song per film. Best Songs from The Disney RenaissanceStrangers Like Me – Tarzan // Something There – Beauty and the Beast // Under the Sea – The Little Mermaid // The Bells of Notre Dame – The Hunchback of Notre Dame // Colors Of The Wind – Pocahontas // Circle of Life – The Lion King // I’ll Make a Man Out of You – Mulan // I Won’t Say (I’m in Love) – Hercules // Friend Like Me – Aladdin  Continue reading

Monday’s Music 17 [Disney Pre-Renaissance(1970-88) Edition]

July 20, 2015

Happy Monday! Welcome to another edition of ‘Monday’s Music.’ I have to admit that I’ve been a little inconstant when it comes to this series. While it started out as a biweekly series, lately its turned into a once a month kind of thing. I feel terrible about slacking off on this series (especially since I love making these playlists so much,) but I’m happy to announce that staring next week, you can expect a Monday’s Music playlist EVERY other Monday for the rest of the year (if you’d like to see a certain playlist theme, make sure to leave a comment down below!) Continuing on with my Disney Playlists (I had so much fun putting together my favorite songs from Disney’s Golden Age,) this week’s top songs all come from Disney’s Pre-Renaissance era aka the era of Disney’s most UNDERRATED films (seriously, how many people do you know who love or even like Robin Hood, The Black Cauldron or The Great Mouse Detective?) Sure, NOTHING beats the Disney Renaissance, but I think it’s crazy how little respect Disney’s Pre-Renaissance era gets (I happen to love the films of this era!)Why Should I Worry – Oliver & Company // Heffalumps And Woozles – The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh // Best of Friends – The Fox and the Hound // Ev’rybody Wants to Be a Cat – The Aristocats // Love – Robin Hood // Once Upon a Time in New York City – Oliver & Company // World’s Greatest Criminal Mind – The Great Mouse Detective // Someone’s Waiting for You – The Rescuers // Good Company – Oliver & Company  Continue reading
