Happy Monday/Earth Day/birthday to Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Fun fact: Animal Kingdom was my favorite park when I was a kid (now as an adult, Epcot is my favorite). I remember watching the news and seeing updates on how the Tree of Life was going to be built and how it was going to look. I even got to visit Animal Kingdom during it’s opening year back in 1998. Even though I was only six at the time, I will never forget the first time I laid eyes on the Tree of Life.
I’m pretty sure my jaw dropped to the ground.
Even to this day, 21 years later, the Tree of Life is still one of the most beautiful sights in all of Disney World. To honor one of my favorite parks, on their 21st birthday (DAK can finally drink!), I wanted to share a few photos from my recent trip to Disney World last week!
Before we get into this post, can we just take a moment to appreciate how adorable Mickey and Minnie look in their 90th birthday outfits? Like can they stop being SO cute? Gosh I love these two. Any who, back to the post! Welcome to Bits and Pieces, a new series here on Simply Sinova. Bits and Pieces will highlight, well…bits and pieces of my life/different topics. It’s kind of hard to explain (not really) but you’ll get the concept the more Bits and Pieces I post!
First of all, I just want to say that I’m trying SUPER hard to get back into the swing of blogging on a regular schedule. When I first started this blog back in 2013 (Woah, that seems like forever ago), I would try to post at least once a week. Then from around 2014-mid 2018, I would try to post three times a week. But then I just got super busy with work and freelance stuff (and I got super lazy as well).
Hopefully a new series, and a bunch of other cool ideas I have floating around, will help breath some fresh air into this blog! (And help with my writers block/overall laziness).
Here are a few Bits and Pieces of my most recent trip to Walt Disney World:
Happy Monday! Since today is the final day of the 2019 Epcot International Festival of the Arts, I thought “Hey, what better day to do a little recap of the event?.” Even though the event is ending today and this information is pretty useless at this point, I still wanted to share a little bit about my time at the festival. And by “my time at the festival”, I mean talk about all the yummy food I ate while I was there.
The Epcot International Festival of the Arts is my second favorite of the Epcot festivals (after the Flower and Garden Festival of course. No shade to the Food and Wine Festival but it’s definitely my least favorite). I mean who doesn’t love looking at cool art while eating good food?! I know it’s the festival of the “arts” but warning, this post is solely about the food. (#SorryNotSorry). In this post I’ll be rating (on a scale on 1-5) all the treats I tried during the festival.
Here’s how I would rate the food at the 2019 Epcot International Festival of the Arts:
If you’ve frequented the Disney Parks in the past few years, you know firsthand how difficult it can be to score reservations to Be Our Guest restaurant. The Beauty and the Beast themed restaurant has been a hit amongst park goers since it’s opening in 2012. Although getting reservations at this popular Disney eatery can be tricky, somehow I’ve managed to dine at Be Our Guest several times.
(In fact, I’ve eaten there seven times in the past three years. And I have reservations for dinner at Be Our Guest this August!).
A lot of all people have asked me if dining at Be Our Guest is worth it. So today I decided to talk all about what it’s like to have breakfast and/or lunch at Be Our Guest restaurant. (Since I’ve already briefly talked about having dinner at Be Our Guest before).
Here’s what I love about Be Our Guest Restaurant!
Happy Monday! Since I just got back from Disney World last week, I thought today would be the perfect time to share some of the souvenirs I picked up while I was at Disney! This trip in particular was so amazing because I got to experience the Epcot International Food & Wine and attend Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party for the first time ever. That’s what I love so much about Disney, even though I’m an annual passholder and visit all the time, there’s always something new to experience and enjoy (that’s why I’m so excited about all the new rides/lands coming to the parks!).
Since my Disney trips are often so close together, there’s isn’t always a ton of new merchandise from trip to trip. Because of that, I haven’t been getting as many souvenirs as I used to (mostly because I already own so much Disney merch from the parks!). Like I say in all my Disney Haul posts, a quick disclosure: since I am a Disney World annual passholder, I get a pretty good discount on merchandise (20% off!).
Here’s my fall 2017 Disney World Haul:
