Disneyland Haul: Halloween 2016

Disneyland Haul
Happy Thursday! It’s a new month, which means it’s time for a new Disney Haul! I just got back from Disneyland yesterday and boy was it AMAZING! Although I visited Disney World back in May and August and Disneyland Paris back in April, it had been nearly EIGHT months since my last trip to Disneyland (the last time I visited was in February for Valentine’s Day!). What I love so much about the Disney Parks is that while they’re very similar, they are also so different from each other. Disney World is slightly different than Disneyland and Disneyland Paris and so on. There’s just something about Disneyland in particular that just makes my heart happy. I think because Disneyland is so small it feels a little more intimate than some of the other Disney Parks (with that being said, I don’t have a “favorite” park, I love ALL of the Disney Parks hence why I visit them so often!). Disneyland is just such a magical place and I can’t wait to visit it again in TWO WEEKS (you gotta love back to back Disney trips) when all the Christmas decorations are on display. Like I say in all my Disney Haul posts, a quick disclosure: since I am a Disney Premier Passport holder (aka someone who has an annual pass to both Disneyland AND Disney World), I get a pretty good discount on merchandise (20% off at Disneyland and 10% off at Disney World.) . Here’s my 2016 Halloween Disneyland Haul: Continue reading

Plaza Inn Review | Disneyland Resort

Plaza Inn Restaurant Review
Happy Friday (raise your hand if you’re excited that it’s finally the weekend!). Today I’m back with another Disney Restaurant Review (I have so much fun with these posts)! Since I’m heading to Disneyland next week (I’m so excited), I thought “what better time to share another Disney Restaurant Review?” I know I’ve said this many times on the blog before but one of my favorite things about visiting the Disney Parks is the FOOD! While most people probably associate Disney with other amusement parks and think it’s all about the rides, us Disney Parks lovers know the truth. Disney is SO much more than just rides. What makes a visit to the Disney Parks so magical is the Disney atmosphere itself and that atmosphere consists of the rides, parades, shows, fireworks, shopping and of course, the FOOD Continue reading

Flo's V8 Café

Breakfast at Flo’s V8 Café | Disneyland Resort

Flo's V8 Café
Happy Friday (raise your hand if you’re excited that it’s finally the weekend!). Today, I’m back with another Disney Restaurant Review (I have so much fun with these posts)! Although I’m heading to Disney World for TWO WEEKS in August and then again in September (for the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival), I won’t be visiting Disneyland again until October (for Halloween). It’s been so long since I’ve visited Disneyland (okay, it’s only been five months and I realize that isn’t that long but for someone like me, who visits the Disney Parks basically every month, it seems like a lifetime) and I miss it so much! So, to get over the Disneyland blues I’ve been experiencing lately, today’s post is all about breakfast at Flo’s V8 Café (because breakfast is the most important meal of the day, am I right?)! Carsland is definitely one of my favorite aspects of California Adventure and no trip to Carsland is complete without a visit to Flo’s V8 Café (and a ride on Radiator Springs Racers of course!). Cafe Orleans Review | Disneyland Resort

Cafe Orleans Review
Happy Wednesday! Today, I’m back with another Disney Restaurant Review and boy, is it a good one! That’s right, today’s Disney Restaurant Review is dedicated to the one and only Cafe Orleans (located in New Orleans Square at Disneyland). I’ve talked about this (very) briefly on the blog before but I am OBSESSED with all things New Orleans (in fact, visiting New Orleans is on my 25 before 25 bucket list!). I’m in love with all the food, beauty and culture New Orleans has to offer. I think one of the main reasons I’ve always liked New Orleans (even though I’ve never visited) is because of the similarities it has to my hometown Chicago in respect to jazz music. Needless to say, I just love all things New Orleans. Luckily for me, Disneyland’s New Orleans Square has the perfect amount of “all things New Orleans” to satisfy my NOLA craving (and it also happens to be home to two of my FAVORITE Disney rides: Pirates of the Caribbean and The Haunted Mansion!). Since I frequent the Disney Parks so often, I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to dine at practically every Disney restaurant and if you’re looking for good food, good prices and a charming atmosphere, then look no further than Cafe Orleans! Mickey and the Magical Map Review | Disneyland

Mickey and the Magical Map
I had such a blast writing my Yak & Yeti Review (stay tuned, because I have a TON of Disney Restaurant Reviews coming soon) earlier this month, that I’ve decided to start sharing more Disney reviews/posts here on the blog. One of my goals this year is to incorporate more Disney on the blog, so I thought there’s no better time than the present. Like I said in my Yak & Yeti Review, Disney is not your typical “theme park” (I actually don’t even consider it to be a theme park). Disney is SO much more than just rides. What makes a visit to the Disney Parks so magical is the Disney atmosphere itself and that atmosphere consists of rides, parades, shows, fireworks, shopping and of course, FOOD! Today, I’ll be talking about one of my favorite shows at Disneyland: Mickey and the Magical Map! Mickey and the Magical Map is a 22-minute live musical show that first debuted at Disneyland back in 2013. While this is NO Fantasmic and it doesn’t even come close to Disney World’s Beauty and the Beast stage show (which is located in Hollywood Studios), the singing, dancing and amazing performers definitely bring a certain charm to Mickey and the Magical Map. While the overall storyline of Mickey and the Magical map is so-so, it’s the unique song selections and homage to otherwise overlooked Disney films that makes it a must see in my opinion.
