Mickey and the Magical Map Review | Disneyland

February 24, 2016

Mickey and the Magical Map
I had such a blast writing my Yak & Yeti Review (stay tuned, because I have a TON of Disney Restaurant Reviews coming soon) earlier this month, that I’ve decided to start sharing more Disney reviews/posts here on the blog. One of my goals this year is to incorporate more Disney on the blog, so I thought there’s no better time than the present. Like I said in my Yak & Yeti Review, Disney is not your typical “theme park” (I actually don’t even consider it to be a theme park). Disney is SO much more than just rides. What makes a visit to the Disney Parks so magical is the Disney atmosphere itself and that atmosphere consists of rides, parades, shows, fireworks, shopping and of course, FOOD! Today, I’ll be talking about one of my favorite shows at Disneyland: Mickey and the Magical Map! Mickey and the Magical Map is a 22-minute live musical show that first debuted at Disneyland back in 2013. While this is NO Fantasmic and it doesn’t even come close to Disney World’s Beauty and the Beast stage show (which is located in Hollywood Studios), the singing, dancing and amazing performers definitely bring a certain charm to Mickey and the Magical Map. While the overall storyline of Mickey and the Magical map is so-so, it’s the unique song selections and homage to otherwise overlooked Disney films that makes it a must see in my opinion. Disneyland Haul: Winter 2016

Disneyland Haul
Happy Friday! It’s a new month, which means it’s time for a new Disney Haul! Sadly, this month marks the end of my monthly Disney trips (insert crying emoj!). That’s right, March will be the first month since August 2015 that I won’t be visiting either Disneyland or Disney World. But don’t feel too bad for me because in April I’m heading to DISNEYLAND PARIS for my 24th birthday! Words can’t describe how excited am I for this trip! Visiting Disneyland Paris has been on my Disney bucket list for years and I never thought it would be happening this soon (and on my birthday nonetheless!) But enough about Paris, on to the Disneyland haul! Like I say in all my Disney Haul posts, a quick disclosure: since I am a Disney Premier Passport holder (aka someone who has an annual pass to both Disneyland AND Disney World), I get a pretty good discount on merchandise (20% off at Disneyland and 10% off at Disney World.)  Continue reading

Disneyland During the Holidays

Disneyland During Christmastime
I’m so EXCITED to be heading to Disney World TOMORROW (for Christmas and New Years) but before I leave, I wanted to share a few pictures from my trip to Disneyland last week (two Disney trips within two weeks of each other?! Crazy, I know, but Disney is my LIFE!) Although I’ve been to the Disney Parks more times than I can count on my fingers and toes (in 2015 alone I’ve visited Disney seven times, so far), this was my first time experiencing Disneyland during the holidays! I’ve got to say, it DID NOT disappoint! It was truly magical. I’ve said this before but NOTHING compares to Disney during the holidays! For this post, I’ve decided to highlight my favorite things about each of the eight lands—Main Street, U.S.A., Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, Mickey’s Toontown, Frontierland, Critter Country, New Orleans Square and Adventureland. Up First, Main Street, U.S.A.!  Continue reading

Disneyland Haul: Christmas 2015

Disneyland Christmas Haul
Happy Friday! New month, new Disney Haul! I am really trying to soak up these monthly Disney trips as much as possible before they end in February (and then I won’t be visiting Disney again until my birthday in April when I get to go to DISNEYLAND PARIS!!!) (Side note: I am so EXCITED to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens TONIGHT at the IMAX!) This was definitely a spontartoues Disneyland trip (I only planned it about two weeks ahead of time!) As some of you may have read, I surprised my mom with this Disneyland trip as a Christmas present. Since we always spend Christmas at Disney World, I wanted to finally experience Disneyland during the holidays. So I thought, “why wait until next year?” Next thing you know, I booked a flight out to Cali and there we were (BEST. SPONTANEOUS. TRIP. EVER!) Like I say in all my Disney Haul posts, a quick disclosure: since I am a Disney Premier Passport holder (aka someone who has an annual pass to both Disneyland AND Disney World), I get a pretty good discount on merchandise (20% off at Disneyland and 10% off at Disney World.) Here’s my Disneyland Christmas 2015 Haul: Continue reading

Disneyland Haul: Halloween 2015

Disneyland Halloween 2015 Haul
Happy Wednesday everyone! Since I just got back from Disneyland last week, I thought today would be the perfect time to share this month’s Disney Haul! I was so excited to introduce this new monthly Disney Haul series to the blog last month and I’m so grateful for all the positive responses it’s received so far (shoutout to all my fellow Disney lovers out there!) If you couldn’t already tell, I LOVE Disney, so I’m so happy that I get to incorporate more Disney on my blog thanks to this series. Just like in last month’s post, I want to add this quick disclosure: since I am a Disney Premier Passport holder (aka someone who has an annual pass to both Disneyland AND Disney World), I get a pretty good discount on merchandise (20% off at Disneyland and 10% off at Disney World.) I also wanted to add that EVERYTHING in this post was actually purchased with gift cards (my family always gives each other random “I love you gifts” and I always ask for Disney gift cards. I also had some Disney gift cards saved from past birthdays/holidays) so shoutout to my amazing family aka Lilo (my mom) and Ashley (my sister.) Here’s my Disneyland Halloween 2015 Haul:  Continue reading
