Last Saturday I got to cross off something that’s been on my Bucket List since I was SEVEN years old: see a live taping of Saturday Night Live! It all happened SO FAST! I got the email that I had gotten tickets on Monday (they only give you a weeks notice,) booked my fight on Tuesday and flew to New York City that Saturday morning! Sometimes spontaneous trips are the best trips, right? Let me just say, I am a HUGE saver. I only spend money when I absolutely have too (my family calls me frugal, but it works to my advantage!) Whenever I get paid, I put certain amounts away in my ‘upcoming trips fund’ and my ’emergency fund’! This was definitely an ’emergency fund’ situation (since my trip fund is for planned trips, not last minute ones.) Like I said, call me frugal all you want but if I wasn’t, I wouldn’t be able to travel as much or get to take random weekend trips to NYC to see SNL! Continue reading
Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving yesterday (I’m stuffed!) I’m FINALLY sharing the rest of my photos from my trip to New York last month! Don’t get me wrong, New York is a beautiful city, but I prefer Chicago 1,000%! Although, NYC is a great city to visit (every once in a while.) I had so much fun being a “tourist” and visiting all the museums and attractions. If I had to choose a favorite, it would be a tie between the MET and MoMA (what can I say, I love art museums!) I also really loved getting to visit the Empire State building and the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island (I got the cutest little Christmas decorations from the Ellis Island gift shop!) I am planning on visiting New York again soon (maybe in February) but until then, I have all these lovely pictures to hold me over:
I know I’m a little late with some of my New York posts (it’s been almost a month since I went to NYC) but bare with me, I had so many photos to go through. I also had a mini scare two weeks ago because I thought I lost one of my memory cards (thankfully I found it!) After this post, I’ll only have one more New York related adventure to share with you all! Like I said in some of my previous posts, thanks to the wonderful folks at CityPass, I was able to visit a handful of amazing New York tourist destinations! One of those places was the lovely American Museum of Natural History. I can’t tell you how long I’ve wanted to visit this museum! While the museum itself was lovely, I do have one complaint. Why is the museum SO DARK?! Darkness aside, here are some of my favorite snaps from my trip to the American Museum of Natural History:
Happy November everyone! I’ve finally gotten around to cleaning out my camera and I’m excited to share some more of my favorite memories (and photos) from my trip to New York City last month! While in NYC, I had the incredible opportunity to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I’m a HUGE museum lover and every time I visit a new city, I always love to check out their museums. While this wasn’t my first time in New York (more like my eighth), it was the first time I visited ANY of the museums. While I like all types of museums, art museums will always have a special place in my heart! Here are some of my favorite photo’s I snapped while in the museum:
One of the reasons I was in New York last week was because of New York Comic Con. For the last four years, it has been a dream of mine to attend San Diego Comic Con. No offense to all the other Comic Con’s but SDCC just seemed like the Con of all Cons! Apparently, this year’s New York Comic Con attendance actually TOPPED July’s SDCC! So I guess in the end, I DID go to the Con of all Cons (thanks NYCC for the awesome time!) If I had to sum up the craziness of (any) Comic Con in three words, they would be: Panels, Cosplay and Booths!
