Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving yesterday (I’m stuffed!) I’m FINALLY sharing the rest of my photos from my trip to New York last month! Don’t get me wrong, New York is a beautiful city, but I prefer Chicago 1,000%! Although, NYC is a great city to visit (every once in a while.) I had so much fun being a “tourist” and visiting all the museums and attractions. If I had to choose a favorite, it would be a tie between the MET and MoMA (what can I say, I love art museums!) I also really loved getting to visit the Empire State building and the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island (I got the cutest little Christmas decorations from the Ellis Island gift shop!) I am planning on visiting New York again soon (maybe in February) but until then, I have all these lovely pictures to hold me over:
Until next time New York!
I know I’m a little late with some of my New York posts (it’s been almost a month since I went to NYC) but bare with me, I had so many photos to go through. I also had a mini scare two weeks ago because I thought I lost one of my memory cards (thankfully I found it!) After this post, I’ll only have one more New York related adventure to share with you all! Like I said in some of my previous posts, thanks to the wonderful folks at CityPass
, I was able to visit a handful of amazing New York tourist destinations! One of those places was the lovely American Museum of Natural History. I can’t tell you how long I’ve wanted to visit this museum! While the museum itself was lovely, I do have one complaint. Why is the museum SO DARK?
! Darkness aside, here are some of my favorite snaps from my trip to the American Museum of Natural History:
Asides from being so dark, the American Museum of Natural History was marvelous! I’ve actually heard from a few New Yorkers (and people who’ve visited this museum) that it is ALWAYS super dark (which is really weird.) After art museums, history museums are my favorite types of museums (luckily, I have the beautiful Chicago Field Museum right here at my disposal!) During my entire visit to the American Museum of Natural History, I keep pretending that I was in Night at the Museum! Can you imagine if museum exhibits really did come alive at night?!
What’s your favorite museum?
*Special thanks to Hurtigruten for sponsoring today’s post and for inspiring me to try and check something off my bucket list*
to travel! In fact, I already have two trips for winter (Christmas) and spring (my birthday) planned. There’s something so amazing about exploring everything the world has to offer. Whether it’s visiting a French art museum or seeing the Northern Lights
. Speaking of seeing the Northern Lights
, that’s been on my to do list for the LONGEST
time! Did you know that winter is the most special time to explore the wild and untamed Norwegian scenery? Join various miniature polar expeditions like a husky sledge adventure
or a snow mobile trip into the Polar Night
through a frozen landscape with beautiful views of the Arctic Wilderness
. I mean, just LOOK at these breathtaking views:
offers numerous winter packages that are perfect for experiencing Norwegian culture including: a 6-Day Voyage South, 7-Day Voyage North or a 12-Day Roundtrip Voyage! Each Hurtigruten
departure is a purposeful voyage providing a transportation lifeline between cities and villages while exploring stunning fjords and UNESCO World Heritage sites along the more than 1,000 miles of Norway’s pristine coastal waterway. This mixture of local encounters, spectacular scenery and utterly unique shore activities provides an unmatched opportunity to experience and interact with the beauty and charm of Norway and it’s people. Hurtigruten

Is a visit to Norway (or seeing the Northern Lights) on your Bucket List? If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?
Today (well, tonight) I’m heading to New York City! I’m so excited because I haven’t been to NYC in almost 7 months! It’s weird, because I’ve been to NYC about seven or eight times but I’ve never done the ‘tourist’ stuff! I’ve never been to the Empire State Building, visited any museums or even come close to seeing the Statue of Liberty. Now, thanks my pals at City Pass
, that’s all about to change! I get to finally experience a true ‘New York Vacation.” While I’m in NYC, I’ll also be attending New York Comic Con and I’m so excited! I can’t wait for the Birdman Panel (and several other exciting panels) and all the cool Funko exclusives! I have a press pass to NYCC so I’ve been getting all these fun ‘press’ emails and invitations to certain events (it’s so exciting) and have even be asked to do a couple interviews!
