It’s been a HOT MINUTE since I’ve bought a blind bag or blind box. In fact, my last Blind Box & Bag Roundup was posted back in January 2020. And the one prior to that was in late 2019. While I still find them to be cute, I’ve just simply grown out of collecting them. But then I went to BoxLunch last weekend. I had a pretty good coupon so I decided to browse the store to see if they had any cute Disney clothing for my trip later this month.
Color me shocked when I saw the CUTEST tokidoki SpongeBob SquarePants themed blind box right by the register. Like most 90s kids, and just people in general, I’m a HUGE SpongeBob fan. Even now as an adult I can still watch SpongeBob, especially the older episodes, and laugh. And I’m not exaggerating when I say that I quote SpongeBob at least three times a week in normal conversations.
So tokidoki + SpongeBob SquarePants? SOLD!
I love how they point out that these figures aren’t toys, but collectible art because it’s so true. These figures aren’t really meant for kids to play with. They are meant to collect and admire.
There’s 8 figures to collect in this series: SpongeBob, Patrick, unicorn SpongeBob, Sandy, Jellyfishing SpongeBob, SpongeBob riding a unicorn, SpongeBob driving and Squidward. I love that Squidward is the chaser because they already knew he would be the one everyone wanted the most!
Honestly I didn’t mind which one I got but I had my fingers crossed for the chaser, Patrick and jellyfishing SpongeBob.
I got Sandy! Fun fact: when I was in sixth grade my family adopted a bunny and my sister and I named her Sandy after Sandy Cheeks from SpongeBob. I’m so glad I saw these blind boxes at BunchLunch because I love this figure!
