If you’ve been following this blog for a while then you already know how I feel about Disney pin trading. I’ve been collecting and trading Disney pins since about 2001. Over the years Disney pin trading has defineitly changed a bit. When I was younger/in the early 2000s you could trade for incredible pins with cast members. The pin boards were filled with cool pins and hidden Mickeys. Some of my favorite memories from Disney World when I was a kid was trading pins and completing different pin “sets.”
Even though pin trading isn’t exactly what it used to be, I still LOVE pin trading in the parks and with other pin traders. One of my favorite ways to pin trade is with fellow pin traders. That’s why I knew I wanted to bring some pins to trade on my Disney Cruise. Although, since the pandemic there is no longer any official pin trading abroad the Disney Cruise Line. So I know what you’re thinking, “Well, can you still pin trade on a Disney Cruise?”.
The answer is, technically yes!
This was my stateroom door on my last Disney Cruise. I found this cute pin trading magnetic board on Etsy and I was excited to make a few pin trades throughout my cruise.
Pin trading on the Disney Cruise Line is something that guests do on their own. It’s more like an honor system. As you can see the pin board says “take one, leave one.” Unfortunately not everyone is honest. There was one time I came back to my stateroom and 6 pins were gone and there were no pins left but I try not to let the dishonest people ruin it for everyone.
I wasn’t the only person who wanted to bring more pin trading to Disney Cruise Line because I came across a ton of other pin trading boards throughout the ship.
I love how this pin board was Mickey shaped! So cute.
That Oliver pin was cute.
Hey look, another Mickey shaped pin board.
The family in this stateroom were from Hawaii and they set up this cool pin exchange setup on their door. It was filled with different pins from Hawaii. I thought it was cool because I also have a few non-Disney pins in my collection as well.
This was my little pin trading haul from the Disney Cruise Line!
