Happy Monday and welcome to another edition of Monday’s Music! It’s been forever since I’ve shared a Monday’s Music playlist so I thought “hey, there’s no time like the present!”. I always have such a blast sharing different playlists (I think my all-time favorites were my Disney Playlists) and hearing/reading about some of your favorite songs as well (don’t forget to comment down below some of your favorite workout tunes!). It’s such a fun way to discover new music! I was going through a few of my older Monday’s Music playlists and realized that around this time last year I shared my 2016 workout playlist. Although I still do listen to a lot of those songs (and they’re still on my jogging/workout playlist), I’ve updated that playlist quite a bit since then. Here are some of my favorite “current” (meaning these songs, with the expectation of the Hamilton soundtrack, were released this year) workout songs: Continue reading

The Best Record Stores in Chicago
May 15, 2017
As many of you know, I’m an avid record collector. There’s just something about hearing a vinyl that makes me so happy. Call me crazy, but sometimes I feel like a song (or album) sounds better when it’s coming from my record player (maybe it’s because of the bass or something, I don’t know!). I’ve been collecting records since I got my baby blue Crosley record player (her name is Little Darling) for my 21st birthday (which was four years ago). Since then, vinyl hunts have become part of my regular weekend routine (I’ve also updated my record player to an adorable floral Crosley Radio Keepsake Portable Turntable). I love searching for new records. I can’t explain it but it just makes me so happy! Over the past four years of I’ve explored dozens of awesome record stores so I thought today, I’d share a couple of my favorite ones with you all. Here are some of my favorite record stores in Chicago: Continue reading
VNYL | Curated Vinyl Records Delivered Monthly
April 14, 2017
After hearing a ton of mixed reviews (from both word of mouth and online reviews) about VNYL, I decided to finally bite and the bullet and check it out for myself. If you checked out my previous VNYL review then you may recall that during Cyber Monday, VNYL was having an awesome deal where you could get a two month membership for just $40 and since you get three records per month, that’s $40 for six records (which isn’t half bad if you ask me!). Although I had a somewhat positive/pleasant first month experience with VNYL, I can’t say the same for my second/final month. Even though I’m a huge vinyl lover/collector, I don’t think VNYL is the best route, for me personality, for growing a record collection. I’m glad I decided to try VNYL out (that Cyber Monday deal was a little to good to pass up) but (regular) price wise, I definitely don’t think it is worth it! Continue reading

VNYL | Curated Vinyl Records Delivered Monthly
February 13, 2017
After hearing a ton of mixed reviews (from both word of mouth and online reviews) about VNYL, I decided to finally bite and the bullet and check it out for myself. As some of you may or may not know, I’m a HUGE vinyl lover and I’ve been collecting records for almost four years now. I started collecting records after my sister got me a record player, a turquoise Crosley Cruiser Turntable that I named Little Darling, for my 21st birthday and since I’m turning 25 later this year, that equals four years of collecting!. Speaking of turning 25 (I still can’t believe I’ll be 25 in April), one of the things I really want to cross off my 25 before 25 bucket list (before April) is “own 100+ records.” Although I’ve been going on countless vinyl hunts lately, I’m not quite at 100 records yet (and I refuse to buy any old records just so I can hit 100!). During Cyber Monday (that seems like forever ago doesn’t it), VNYL was having an awesome deal where you could get a two month membership for just $40 and since you get three records per month, that’s $40 for six records (which isn’t half bad if you ask me!). Monday’s Music 28 // Disney Revival Playlist
November 21, 2016
Happy Monday and welcome to another edition of Monday’s Music! I’m so excited because today (well, tonight) I’m attending an advance screening of Disney’s Moana! Ever since I saw a special sneak peek of Moana at Disneyland last month, I’ve been counting down the days until the film is released (it just looks so good!). In fact, I’ve been listening to the soundtrack on repeat for the last few days. If you’ve been following this blog for a while then you already know how much I love Lin-Manuel Miranda (and Hamilton) and he really nailed it with this soundtrack! Speaking of Disney soundtracks, I thought today would be the perfect time to share another Disney Playlist. So far I’ve shared Disney playlists for the Disney Golden Age, Disney Pre-Renaissance, the Disney Renaissance and the underrated (and frequently forgotten) Disney Post-Renaissance. Today’s Disney Playlist is dedicated to the Disney Revival era (i.e 2009 – the present). Continue reading
