Suess Landing during ChristmasHappy Monday everyone! Today is Theodor Seuss Geisel’s (or as he’s more famously known, Dr. Seuss) birthday! Dr. Seuss is one of my favorite authors. I loved reading all his books as a kid and his writing inspired me to enter my school’s ‘Young Authors’ program at the age of six (which I went on to win almost every year until eighth grade!) Dr. Seuss’s books are also a huge reason why I got into writing. I always loved how creative he was. If there wasn’t a thing or rhyme, he’d just make it up! I’m so EXCITED that they’re releasing a new Dr. Seuss book this summer (the kid in me is jumping for joy!) Anyone who knows me knows what a HUGE Simpsons fan I am! I grew up watching the Simpsons every week and have always considered them my second family (I’m weird, I know!) My older sister was born in 1988, the same year the Simpsons debuted, so it’s an ongoing joke in my family every year on her birthday to say “you’re turning (insert age), just like the Simpsons (last year it was “you’re turning 26, just like the Simpsons!) Another family Simpsons connection is the fact that my mom’s name is Lisa (although we’ve called her ‘Lilo’ for as long as I can remember!) So on her birthday we like to sing “Happy Birthday Lisa,” which Michael Jackson famously sung on the show! Being such a huge Simpsons fan made visiting Springfield, USA in Universal Orlando that much more AMAZING! Since the Simpsons have been apart of my life for so long, visiting Springfield literally felt like I was waking through my hometown! Continue reading →

Last weekend was a little bit crazy! Between work/freelancing, deadlines overlapping and life in general, I decided that if I didn’t take a break I’d explode! So I FINALLY decided to go through all my Disney World & Universal Orlando photo’s from my trip to Florida last month. Since I have over 1,000 (yes, one thousand) photos, I’ve decided to spread my trip out through a series of ‘This Place‘ posts! First up: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Like most 90’s kids (and people in general,) I’m a HUGE Harry Potter fan!
